Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Sunday, at approximately 7:00 pm, Webb County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a shots fire call at Los Arcos in Los Centenarios Subdivision on Highway 59.

Upon arrival to the subdivision, deputies heard the snapping sound of bullets feet away from their location and toward nearby homes and innocent civilians. Deputies set up a perimeter and located several male subjects by a ranch at this location.

Inside the property, several spent casings of 223/556 ammunition was recovered, including an AR-15 rifle. Ismael Charles Jr, 19, and Randy Capetillo, 18, were taken into custody and charged with deadly conduct Class A and unlawful carry of a weapon Class A.

Both Charles and Capetillo were transported to the Webb County Jail and remanded without bond.

“The discharging of a weapon is very dangerous when it is done without the regard for the safety of the public,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar.

“I again remind the public that I have a campaign to investigate the dangerous and irresponsible use of firearms in the rural areas of Webb County. Any unsafe or irresponsible use of firearms should be reported to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office at 956-523-4408 or our Hotline at 956-415-BUST(2878).”
