6-year-old dies of injuries sustained in accident

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) –A six-year old boy died Friday afternoon after being run over by a pick-up truck in Rio Bravo.
The boy was being dropped off at a relative’s house on the 1400 block of Orquidia Lane when he exited the vehicle and went in front of the truck.
The driver did not see him and dragged him for approximately 20 to 30 feet. The child was initially transported by family member in a vehicle and they then waived down a Laredo Police Department unit near Highway 83 and La Pita Mangana.
An ambulance then transported the child to a local hospital, where he later died. The case remains under investigation.
