The City of Laredo Clarifies Recent Baseball Tournament Allegations

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo was notified of allegations made on social media over the weekend regarding the city’s involvement in a recent baseball tournament called Serie Mundial Laredo 2022.
The City’s involvement was to rent the facilities/baseball fields to the individuals running the tournament. The Parks & Recreation Department requires a signed contract, fee, and insurance to host tournaments in city facilities. Therefore, the City had no involvement in the overall tournament planning or traveling logistics of the registered teams.
