The City of Laredo to Kick Off Parks and Recreation Month

Laredo, Texas – The City of Laredo will proclaim the month of July as Parks & Recreation Month at Jovita Idar’s Progreso Park on Friday, July 1st. Since 1985, America has celebrated the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month.
The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) raises awareness of the essential services that parks and recreation professionals provide to communities across the U.S.
This July, the City of Laredo Parks & Recreation Department is celebrating with the theme: “We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation”.
All month long, the City will highlight different ways our residents can work towards a strong, vibrant, and resilient community through parks and recreation. For more information, log on to www.nrpa.org/july.
