City of Laredo Welcomes Doctor Maurice Click as the New Medical Authority

Laredo, Texas – On Monday, June 6, the Laredo City Council announced the appointment of Dr. Maurice A. Click as the new Health Authority for the Public Health Department.
Dr. Click was sworn-in to his new position on Tuesday, June 8 by City Secretary, Jose Valdez, Jr., at City Hall.
The Laredo Health Department and City Management created the first Full-time Employee (FTE) Medical Doctor (MD) position, also known as Medical Authority (MA), to comply with the objective of enhancing health equity and a higher level of public healthcare services in the community.
The FTE MA position consists of providing healthcare services to the uninsured and underinsured populations at the Laredo Health Department during regular business hours while also performing the duties of a Health Authority.
This position is also on-call 24 hours a day.
The City of Laredo thanks Dr. Click for his continued dedication and commitment to the health and safety of all Laredoans.
