Veterans Memorial E.S. Raises Funds for Ronald McDonald House

(Laredo, Texas)-Veterans Memorial Elementary School (VMES), hosted a #Share the Love Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), campaign in honor of Mikayla Faith Camarillo,whose Mother works as a teacher at the campus.The San Antonio,Texas based charity provides free-of-charge lodging for the families of children who receive essential medical services. In rallying behind baby Mikayla, the VMES community raised $547.00 for RMHC by creating and selling decorative purple hearts.
“Donations go a long way to helping families in need. Our contribution will cover the cost of transportation to a hospital, plus meals and a one night stay for a family of four”, said Principal Luz Edith Serna – Ramirez.
