(Laredo, Texas)-After a prolonged disruption caused by the nationwide Covid pandemic, Fasken elementary students and National Elementary Honor Society peers resumed their annual “Pinwheels for Prevention” fundraiser to support programs devoted to the prevention of child abuse.
The students sold yellow and blue pinwheels to plant on the front lawn of their campus. The pinwheel garden signifies the carefree childhood that every kid deserves. “Children who are raised in loving and nurturing homes are more academically successful and contribute to society in positive ways.
Our students do their part to advocate for the prevention of child abuse by donating all proceeds to local programs that raise community awareness and help other children”, said counselor Laura Canales.
