Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, at approximately 6 p.m., the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at the 600 block of Constantinople Street.
The search warrant led to the seizure of one firearm, almost 66 pounds of marijuana, 164.5 grams of cocaine, cash, and the arrest of a local man.
Alejandro Garcia, 31, was charged with possession of marijuana felony 2 and possession of controlled substance felony 2. He was remanded to the Webb County Jail in lieu of a combined bond of $50,000.
The approximately $2,310 seized is proceeds of illicit narcotics sales. The marijuana is worth an estimated $19,650.00 and the cocaine is estimated at $6,580.
“As a former narcotics investigator, the way the marijuana was packaged has every indicator that it was going to be sent north for distribution and sale, while the money was going south, possibly Mexico. The way the cocaine was packaged indicates it was going to be sold and distributed locally,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar. “I remind the community to please report any suspicious activities by calling our hotline at 956-415-BUST (2878). You may be eligible for a cash reward.”
