H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards Committee Visits United ISD, Meets with District Administration

(Laredo, Texas)-H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards program announced United ISD one of five finalists across Texas for School District of the Year in the Large School District category. In a process to determine overall statewide winners, a panel of judges visited United ISD and toured Raul Perales Middle School and United High School. These tours included talks with administration, staff, parents, students, and community members.
The UISD administrative team went through a rigorous interview process where representatives were given a tour of Perales Middle School and United High School and driven around the district. Students and staff at both schools gave H-E-B representatives a warm and memorable welcome.
Winners will be announced at the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards ceremony on April 30 at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin. The winning large district will receive $100,000.
As a finalist, the district receives $5,000.
