United ISD Announces 2022 Middle/High School Science Fair Winners

(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD proudly announces the winners of the District’s 34th Annual Science Fair. Middle and high school students displayed and presented their science projects for a panel of judges that consisted of district educators, academic coordinators, and STEM activity coordinators. At the high school level, the Grand Champion will advance to represent UISD at the Regeneron ISEF competition on May 8-13 in Atlanta, GA. All 1st place winners from the 4 categories will compete virtually at the State Science Fair in late March. The results of the competition are as follows:

Middle School:

In the category of Behavioral & Social Science

1st – Alvaro Salinas – EHMS

2nd – Regina Sanchez Renteria – TMS

In the category of Life & Environmental Science

1st – Aliza Valdez – EHMS

2nd – Carlos Perez – RPMS

In the category of Physical Science

1st – Analy Cisneros – GWMS

2nd – Javier Peña – TMS

In the category of Earth & Space Science

1st – Elyanna Gonzalez – UMS

2nd – Katia Velasquez – EHMS

The Grand Champion is Elyanna Gonzalez from UMS; in the category of Earth & Space Science.

Project title – Let It Grow.

The Reserve Grand Champion is Aliza Valdez from EHMS; in the category of Life & Environmental Science
