City of Laredo Provides Update on Water Pressure & Water Distribution

Courtesy Noraida Negron,

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo is providing an update on water pressure and water distribution. Overnight, the Lyon, Sierra Vista, Milmo, Highway 359, and South Laredo Tanks gained significant water levels. However, the affected areas remain under a Water Boil Notice and the City of Laredo advises residents to boil water intended for consumption as a precautionary measure.

Flushing of Water Lines:

Crews from the Utilities Department will continue flushing lines to remove air. Residents may notice the water appears to be cloudy (white in color). That indicates there is air and once the system is fully flushed coloration should dissipate. If your home faucets are experiencing a large amount of air when open please report this to 311 so that utility crews can be mobilized to your immediate area.

Water Distributions:

The Emergency Operation Center continues to assess the need in different areas and continues to provide water distributions. Today beginning at 1:00 p.m. bottled water will be available at 4 locations. They are Independence Hills Park, Slaughter Park, Jose & Alicia Garza Park in Cielito Lindo, and Raul Perales Middle School. Also, starting Monday, February 28, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. residents can receive bottled water at Independence Hills Park and Concord Hills Park.
