Kayla C. Herrera, A Senior at John B. Alexander High School Signs Letter of Intent

(Laredo, Texas)-Kayla C. Herrera, a senior at John B. Alexander High School, has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Temple College Leopards in Temple, Texas. Herrera is a three-year varsity letterman and the Lady Bulldogs’ point guard. She plans to study Criminal Justice.
“I’d like to express my gratitude to my parents, family, friends, coaches, mentors, and teammates for pushing me to achieve my full potential. My coaches, CJ Martinez, Coach Medellin, Luis Estrada, Mat Duron, Antonio Holmes, Clifford Detiege, Dwight Becker, and Joaquin Jamaica, have always believed in me and helped me reach my full potential. “A special thanks to Coach Amber Taylor and Coach Nyla Cosby of Temple College for providing me with the chance and a Full Athletic Scholarship to play basketball at the next level,” stated honoree Kayla Herrera.
“Kayla is an exceptional student athlete who embodies what the Alexander athletic programs are about. It is or was no surprise to any of the coaches that she would be given the opportunity to compete at the next level, said Ivan Medellin, Coach.” He added, “As coaches we are extremely proud of all the hard work she has put in day in and day out for our Lady Bulldog Basketball program and we know that she will give the Temple College Leopards even more.”
