Diego Canales Wins United ISD Spelling Bee

(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD held a virtual Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, for students in grades 3-8. Forty-one contestants representing United ISD elementary and middle schools competed virtually from their school’s library. All students in the District Spelling Bee qualified for the competition by winning first place at their respective campus spelling bees.
The District winners are:
1st Place: Diego Canales (5th grade) – Nye Elementary School
2nd Place: Alejandro Martinez (5th grade) – Killam Elementary School
3rd Place: Nathaniel Rimocal (7th grade) – Lamar Bruni Vergara Middle School
All Forty-one contestants from United ISD’s virtual Spelling Bee will enter the City-Wide Spelling Bee.
