City of Laredo Officials Join Nuevo León Governor in Vaccination Drive

Laredo, Texas – Mayor Pete Saenz and Council Member for District 4, Alberto Torres, Jr., joined the State of Nuevo León and its governor, Samuel García Sepúlveda, on a vaccination drive held at the Colombia Solidarity International Bridge for 5 to 12 year old children.
On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 10 buses with elementary students from public schools in the State of Nuevo León arrived to the international bridge for the vaccination drive.
The buses arrived at the registration area, where all minors walked 450 meters until they reached the dividing line of the bridge to receive their first dose the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Approximately 2,350 elementary school students received the COVID-19 vaccine.
“It was an honor to have received Governor Samuel García during this symbolic ceremony where we represented commitment, loyalty, and a sense of community to our friends in Mexico,” states Mayor Pete Saenz. “We continue to be committed in developing and strengthening our bilateral cooperation to execute projects and actions that have an effective impact on health as well as economic and social progress.”
