United ISD Partners for Scholars Golf Tournament

(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD Partners for Scholars and title sponsor Powell Watson Motors hosted the District’s Golf Tournament “FORE” Our Students event at the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course. The sold-out event drew 40 three-man scramble teams to play 18 holes of golf in support of UISD’s annual scholarship program. Powell Watson Motors donated $15,000.00 as the title sponsor and provided two hole-in-one opportunities for golfers to win a vehicle.
Following a breakfast sponsored by Patria Office Supply, golfers loaded their carts and made their way to their starting positions. Cougar Bus Lines provided a post-tournament lunch.
Bobby Cruz, UISD Athletic Director, coordinated the effort, which raised more than $50,000. “It was a fantastic day of golf. The District wants to extend its sincere thanks to all of the sponsors and participants who contributed to this significant fundraiser for our students,” said Cruz.
