Tip to Possible Shooting Leads to Investigation by UISD Police

(Laredo, Texas)-Late yesterday afternoon, United ISD received a tip regarding an alleged shooting that was to occur at United South High School. United ISD Police Department conducted a wellness check/investigation and found no viable threat. However, the United ISD Police Department will mobilize a heightened security presence in the days to come at USHS.
United ISD continues to encourage our parents, community partners, and our students to advise us of potential threats compromising the safety of our students as all threats are taken seriously and investigated.
Classes at United South High School are under a regular schedule today. Our administrators and staff members will continue to be vigilant. The district thanks all of the USHS parents and community for providing information and for their calls of concern. Rest assured that United ISD will continue to ensure that our procedures are followed to benefit everyone’s safety. The district intends to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any individuals who disrupt or threaten the safety of our campuses and students.
