Courtesy David Alegria,

Laredo, Texas – In partnership with the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM), the City of Laredo and the Emergency Management Coordinator, Chief Guillermo Heard, will re-open the TDEM COVID-19 Infusion Center.

The center will be located at the Haynes Recreation Center (2102 Clark’s Crossing Dr.) and will begin operating on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 7:00 AM. The purpose for this center is to assist hospitals in increasing capacity for high risk COVID-19 patients. Approximately, 90 patients will be treated per day at the center.

The infusion center will include 30 beds and administer monoclonal antibodies for those who have mild COVID-19 symptoms. Ten of those beds will be available for walk-ins. An individual who tests positive with COVID-19 will be able to go to the center and request an evaluation. After the evaluation is made, the medical practitioner will determine if the individual qualifies for monoclonal antibody treatment. The Infusion Center will operate daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will be free of charge.

To make an appointment, the community can call 1-800-742-5990. For those who are homebound and not able to travel, they can call this number to receive the treatment at their homes.
