(Laredo, Texas)-Recently, The Education Committee of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce held The School Bell Awards Ceremony at The Laredo College Falcon Executive Conference Room. Annually, the Laredo Chamber takes time to recognize educators. This year the Laredo Chamber honored twelve outstanding educators representative of the primary grades through the university level. Winners for each of twelve categories were selected from a pool of applicants by members of the Chamber’s Education Committee.
Congratulations to United ISD’s School Bell Honorees; Sylvia Martinez, Colonel Santos Benavides Elementary School, Maria M. Gutierrez, Antonio Gonzalez Middle School, Cristina Flores, from United High School.
“Truly, each of the applicants is well-deserving of recognition for their dedication and commitment to the profession. I applaud each of the applicants and all the other hundreds of teachers that day in and day out dedicate their time and resources to prepare future leaders and workforce for our community and beyond,” expressed Micheal Gonzalez, Chairman of the Chamber’s Education Committee.
Recipients of the School Bell Award received a special award from Family Chevrolet and Killam Development, Ltd. Both business organizations have embraced the event wholeheartedly and are committed to making sure that selected educators realize that the business community is firmly behind them.
