Alexander High School UIL Theatrical Design Students Place at State

(Laredo, Texas)- Six UIL Theatrical Design students from J.B. Alexander high school had a great showing with a group submission and two individual entries at the recent State UIL competition For Theatrical Design.
The group (comprised of Aless Cardenas, Kristi Brooks, Mia May and Carolina Santos), took 2nd place Silver Medal honors; Individual project category winner David Elizondo took the Bronze Medal for Division 2 Individual Costume Design. The second winner in the individual project category was Alexandra Fragoso. She won 4th Place for Division 2 Individual Hair & Makeup Design.
“I am beyond proud to report that for the second consecutive year, all 6 students have placed at the Texas State UIL Theatrical Design Championship, which was held virtually this weekend. Our Group placed 2nd overall in the entire State and our individual competitors placed 3rd and 4th in the State in their division and category. I am so proud of our UIL State Champs”, said Erika Buentello, Art Department Chair and Theatrical Design Coach.
