LAREDO, Texas — On Monday, April 19th, 2021, the City of Laredo Mayor, Pete Saenz, Council, and City Management were honored to recognize two important individuals in our community during this evening’s Council Meeting.
First, Jennifer Lozano received this recognition, an 18-year-old athlete, that has dedicated her career to boxing. She recently obtained the championship title at the 2020 USA National Boxing Championship in the 119 Division.
Due to this accomplishment, she is now part of the Boxing Team USA and will represent the United States at an international level. Throughout her athletic journey, Jennifer has conquered many national titles, which have brought her to be ranked as the #1 boxer in the USA in the 119 weigh division.
The City of Laredo proudly presented this well-deserved recognition to Ms. Lozano due to her efforts to follow her dreams, pursue her goals, and become an inspiration to others in the community and the whole world. Likewise, Ms. Lozano has been presented with a monetary award, as she qualified as a recipient for the Laredo Convention & Visitors’ Bureau sponsor program for being an individual that will represent Laredo outside of Webb County.
