Lyndon B. Johnson High School Oil and Gas Students Receive OSHA Certification

(Laredo, Texas)-Recently, 22 students enrolled in Lyndon B. Johnson High School’s(LBJHS), Career & Technical Education (CTE), Oil & Gas class received their Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA),certification after successfully completing a course taught by LHJHS Oil/Gas instructor Francisco Benavides.
OSHA safety certification is highly valued and considered to be a bonus by employers in the industrial sector.
“I wish to congratulate our students on their success. They will graduate with their diploma and a type of certification that is very much in demand from prospective employers in the oil and gas sector”, said Assistant Principal/CTE Administrator Emma Rodriguez.
Mr. Benavides added that students who enroll in CTE courses are always advised to take the extra step of earning industry recognized certifications that demonstrate a mastery of knowledge and skills. The high school honored its first class of 18 OSHA certification recipients in November of 2020.
