CBP Officers at the World Trade Bridge Seize Narcotics Worth Over $300K

LAREDO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry seized marijuana that totaled over $300,000 in street value.
“Officers at the World Trade Bridge continue to enforce tactical strategies that fulfill CBP’s mission to protect our border community from prohibited narcotics.” said Acting Port Director Eugene Crawford, Laredo Port of Entry.
The enforcement action occurred on Tuesday, March 29th, when CBP officers assigned to the cargo facility encountered a tractor manifesting pieces of structural metal arriving from Mexico. The 2014 Kenworth tractor and shipment were referred for a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, resulting in the discovery of 1,334 packages containing 1607.61 pounds of alleged marijuana within the shipment.
The narcotics have an estimated street value of $321,518.86
CBP officers seized the narcotics. The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
