United ISD Announces Rosenda K. Ruiz for Principal of Borchers Elementary

(Laredo, Texas)-The United Independent School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Roberto J. Santos are pleased to announce Rosenda K. Ruiz as the new Principal of Borchers Elementary School.
Ms. Ruiz is a 25-year veteran educator of United ISD with an extensive background in education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences with a major in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education with a major in Elementary Education from Texas A&M International University.
Over the last eight years, Ms. Ruiz has served as an Assistant Principal at Borchers Elementary, as well as Summer School principal for Borchers Elementary and Matias De Llano Elementary in the summers of 2015 and 2019. Ms. Ruiz was also an Assistant Principal for seven years, as well as a second and third grade teacher at Salinas Elementary.
Ms. Ruiz stated, “I would like to thank the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent, Mr. Roberto J. Santos, for this amazing opportunity. It is an honor to have been selected as the Principal of Charles Borchers Elementary School and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated faculty and staff. At Borchers Elementary School, we are committed to the development of the whole child in a nurturing environment to become the future stars of tomorrow.”
Ms. Ruiz succeeds Ms. Mucia Flores who has accepted the position of Principal at Roberto J. Santos Elementary School.
Ms. Ruiz will assume her newly appointed position in July 2021.
