City, County Confirm Two New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and Webb County have TWO new confirmed deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one through this pandemic and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.
The 562nd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his mid-70’s. He died Saturday, January 16, 2021.
The 563rd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early-70’s. He died Friday, January 15, 2021.
Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
As of 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, a total of : 231,274 people have been tested; 34,322 have resulted positive (2,220 are active); 31,539 persons have estimated recovered; 237 are currently hospitalized (78 of which are in the ICU), hospitalization rate is at 46.98% and 563 people have died.
