City, County Confirm Seven New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and Webb County have SEVEN new confirmed deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one through this pandemic and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 517th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his mid-60’s. He died on Sunday, January 03, 2021.

The 518th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her mid-90’s. She died on Monday, January 04, 2021.

The 519th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 70’s. She died on Tuesday, January 05, 2021.

The 520th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 80’s. She died on Tuesday, January 05, 2021.

The 521st death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late 70’s. She died on Saturday, January 02, 2021.

The 522nd death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 80’s. She died on Tuesday, January 05, 2021.

The 523rd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 70’s. He died on Tuesday, January 05, 2021.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, a total of 198,704 people have been tested; 27,686 have resulted positive (769 are active); 26,394 persons have estimated recovered; 193 are currently hospitalized (55 of which are in the ICU), hospitalization rate is at 41.25% and 523 people have died.
