City, County Confirm 5 New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and Webb County have FIVE new confirmed deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one through this pandemic and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 593rd death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late-80’s. She died Sunday, January 10, 2021.

The 594th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late-70’s. She died Friday, January 22, 2021.

The 595th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early-70’s. He died Saturday, January 23, 2021.

The 596th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early-60’s. He died Saturday, January 23, 2021.

The 597th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early-60’s. He died Friday, January 22, 2021.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, a total of : 252,151 people have been tested; 38,028 have resulted positive (2,492 are active); 34,939 persons have estimated recovered; 246 are currently hospitalized (79 of which are in the ICU), hospitalization rate is at 43.59% and 597 people have died.
