City, County Confirm New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo and Webb County have ONE new confirmed deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one through this pandemic and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.
The 527th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her mid-90’s. She died Friday, January 01, 2021.
Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
As of 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, a total of 207,651 people have been tested; 29,187 have resulted positive (1,134 are active); 27,526 persons have estimated recovered; 220 are currently hospitalized (64 of which are in the ICU), hospitalization rate is at 43.59% and 527 people have died.
