I congratulate our narcotics unit for immediately getting to work on these cases. After receiving several calls of these overdoses, we knew something wasn t right and we launched these investigations. There are known drug dealers in the area who use fentanyl to lace other drugs. Combined, these two drugs can be fatal, Sheriff Martin Cuellar said. The first case occurred on Oct. 27 in the 1400 block of Orquidia Lane in Rio Bravo. Rolando Vallejo, 18, and Krystal Vallejo, 17, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
