Vanessa Perez Sworn-in as Council Member for District 7

LAREDO, TEXAS – On December 30, 2020, the City of Laredo hosted a swearing-in ceremony for District 7 Council Member, Vanessa Perez, as she was elected to the Laredo City Council. The ceremony took place at City Council Chambers. The oath of office was administered by the Honorable Municipal Court Judge, Jesus “Chuy” Dominguez.
Prior to her election to the Laredo City Council, Perez pursued a career in education for over seven years. As a Certified Public Educator, she taught mathematics to elementary and middle school students in the United Independent School District (UISD). As an advocate to enhance education in her district, Perez worked closely with administration and other educators on numerous efforts to improve educational services in their community. Additionally, she served as a mentor for students pursuing a career in education at Texas A&M International University. Aside from a career in education, Council Member Perez also served on several committees with the intention of improving District 7.
“As an educator, mother, and a homeowner, I’ve been fighting for this community for years,” stated Perez. “Our district deserves full-time representation. That is why I am honored to be your next City Council Member for District 7. This will be my full-time focus.”
The City of Laredo congratulates Vanessa Perez on her election and welcomes her to the Laredo City Council, wishing her a term full of success and support for District 7.
