Ruben Gutierrez, Jr. Sworn-in as Council Member for District 5

LAREDO, TEXAS – On December 23, 2020, the City of Laredo proudly hosted a swearing in ceremony for Ruben Gutierrez, Jr. as the new District 5 Council Member to the Laredo City Council. The ceremony took place at City Hall Council Chambers and was led by Justice-of-the-Peace for Precinct 4, Honorable Jose R. Salinas.
Prior to his election to City Council, Gutierrez served as a public servant and a first responder for over 22 years with the Laredo Police Department, where he was a Master Peace Officer. Furthermore, he is a local small business owner of an operating motorcycle escort company called The Shield Escort Services, Inc.
“It is with great pleasure that I join the Laredo City Council representing District 5,” expressed Council Member Ruben Gutierrez. “As a City Council Member, I will fight and advocate for the needs of District 5 residents and our community as a whole. I also want to formally congratulate all the candidates that participated in this political campaign for coming together with the intention of building and enhancing the community in District 5.”
