United ISD Board of Trustees Approve Employee Retention Payment for All Full-Time Employees Through the 2020-21School Year

(Laredo, Tx)-On Monday, October 12, 2020, during a Special Called meeting of the Board of Trustees, the United ISD Board Members unanimously voted to generously award an Employee Retention Incentive Payment for all full-time employees. District Paraprofessionals and Auxiliary employees will receive a supplement in the amount of $800.00 and Professional Staff and Teachers will receive a supplement of $1,000.00.
The Board of Trustees voted to approve the Employee Retention Incentive Payment to reward employees for their continued service to the 42,000 students of the District, which has become more complex with the additional responsibilities, training, and duties required during the course of this pandemic.
This one time Retention Incentive will be paid to our full-time employees on December 7, 2020. It will be paid to all full-time employees who were employed by the District as of October 30, 2020, and remain employed through the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year. This incentive payment is not considered salary; therefore, it is not eligible for credit in accordance with the Teacher Retirement System.
