City, County Confirm Two New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have two new confirmed death in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one through this pandemic and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.
The 342nd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early-70s. He died on Friday, October 16, 2020.
The 343rd death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early-70s. She died on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
As of 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020, a total of 65,629 people have been tested, 14,823 have resulted positive (505 are active), 13,975 persons have estimated recovered, 58 are currently hospitalized (31 of which are in the ICU), hospitalization rate 13.2%, and 343 have died.
