United ISD to Kick Off Accelerated Reader (AR) Program This Thursday

(Laredo, Texas)United ISD’s 29 elementary schools will kick-off their annual Accelerated Reader (AR) program this Thursday, September10. Accelerated Reader is a program designed to encourage students to read as often as possible. Every book is worth a certain number of points, which students can accumulate over the academic year.
Campuses host AR contests to see which class and individuals can earn the most points. Our District-wide winning class is featured each Thursday in the LMT Kids section of the Laredo Morning Times and on the District’s Facebook page.
