Award Winning Author featured at L.B Johnson 9th Grade High School Campus

The L.B. Johnson High School 9th Grade campus Gear Up Annual Literacy Festival featured guest author Reyna Grande (via zoom session), in the school library. UISD educators attended the session by Ms. Grande – the best-selling author of The Distance Between Us and several other titles.
The author has received numerous literary awards and accolades, including the International Literary Association Children’s Book Award and El Premio Aztlan Literary Award. Her works are frequently selected as reading assignments at many schools and colleges across the country.
This year’s literacy festival coincided with the observation of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15 to October 15.
