Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Tuesday, Webb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a white flatbed trailer on interstate Highway 35 near the 25-mile marker southbound.
After further investigation it was revealed that the trailer was stolen. The driver, James Dustyn Simmons, 38, was identified as a reported convicted felon. A further search by a K9 revealed a Smith and Wesson revolver 38 caliber and a 32 caliber pistol. He was also found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms took custody of Simmons for federal prosecution. A warrant will be obtained for possession of stolen property on trailer.
