LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed four more deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 141st death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late 70s. She died on Monday, August 03, 2020.

The 142nd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 50s. He died on Monday, August 03, 2020.

The 143rd death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 30s. She died on Tuesday, August 04, 2020.

The 144th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his mid-70s. He died on Tuesday, August 04, 2020.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 05, 2020, a total of 19,854 people have been tested, 11,730 people have resulted negative, 7,119 have resulted positive (4,997 are active), 1,005 test results are pending, 1,998 persons have recovered, 202 are currently hospitalized (75 of which are in the ICU), seven patients are currently admitted at the alternate care site, and 144 have died.

In order to safeguard legally-protected information, the City of Laredo is not publically releasing personal or identifiable information regarding any cases as it relates to COVID-19 testing, results or monitoring.

Please continue to do your part in preventing the spread of all diseases. Follow the guidelines below:

· Follow CDC and WHO guidelines and practice physical distancing

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer can be used when soap and water are not readily available

· Wear a mask or face covering

· Avoid touching your face

· Avoid close contact with people who are sick

· Stay home when you’re sick

· Cover all coughs and sneezes

· Clean frequently-touched surfaces
