City, County Confirm New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed 15 more deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 78th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her mid-80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

The 79th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 70s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

The 80th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 60s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

The 81st COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his mid-80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Friday, July 17, 2020.

The 82nd COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 90s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

The 83rd COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Person 83 was a resident of Regent Care Center.

The 84th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 90s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Monday, July 20, 2020. Person 84 was a resident of Laredo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The 85th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late 40s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo E.R. South on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

The 86th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 50s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

The 87th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her mid50s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

The 88th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 70s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

The 89th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her late 70s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

The 90th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her mid-80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

The 91st COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 90s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

The 92nd COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in her late 20s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Nursing Home COVID-19 Update
To date, 12 patients from Regent Care Center have died. One patient from Laredo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has died. These numbers are included in the official counts provided daily at noon.

The City of Laredo Health Department continues to conduct contact investigation on persons who have tested positive to determine possible exposure to others. If the health department has not contacted you, there is no need to take any action at this time. If you feel ill, please contact your physician and monitor your symptoms.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020, a total of 15,241 people have been tested, 9,548 people have resulted negative, 4,699 have resulted positive (3,459 are active), 994 test results are pending, 1,150 persons have recovered, 174 are currently hospitalized (74 of which are in the ICU), and 90 have died.

In order to safeguard legally-protected information, the City of Laredo is not publically releasing personal or identifiable information regarding any cases as it relates to COVID-19 testing, results or monitoring.
