City, County Confirm New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed the 67th, 68th, 69th, 70th and 71st deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 67th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 90s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Monday, July 20, 2020.

The 68th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Monday, July 20, 2020.

The 69th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 80s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

The 70th COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 50s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Sunday, July 19, 2020.

The 71st COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 70s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Monday, July 20, 2020.

The City of Laredo Health Department continues to conduct contact investigation on persons who have tested positive to determine possible exposure to others. If the health department has not contacted you, there is no need to take any action at this time. If you feel ill, please contact your physician and monitor your symptoms.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, a total of 14,557 people have been tested, 9,256 people have resulted negative, 4,276 have resulted positive (3,128 are active), 1,025 test results are pending, 1,077 persons have recovered, 168 are currently hospitalized (63 of which are in the ICU), and 71 have died.

    The city is not keeping us safe what good are safety guidelines if they are not enforced.
