LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers intercepted hard narcotics with an estimated street value of more than $2.3 million in one enforcement action at the World Trade Bridge.

“Enforcement operations at the World Trade Bridge continue to disrupt drug traffickers’ attempts to transport illicit narcotics into the country.” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Thursday, June 11th at the World Trade Bridge when CBP officers assigned to the cargo facility encountered an express consignment vehicle arriving from Mexico. The 2016 Freightliner truck and shipment was referred for a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, resulting in the discovery of 118.96 pounds of alleged methamphetamine concealed within an express consignment shipment.

The narcotics have an estimated street value of $2,379,204.

CBP officers seized the narcotics. The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
