Webb County Sheriff’s Office and CBP joint operation leads to seizure of 14 handguns

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Thursday, at approximately 2:40 P.M, Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputies together with U.S Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations from the Laredo Port of Entry conducted two motor vehicles stops on Toll Road 255 and Interstate Highway 35, as a result of a combined joint operation.
After identifying the drivers of both vehicles and obtaining consent to a search of the vehicles, 14 handguns in total were discovered. One vehicle had nine handguns and second vehicle had five handguns.
All 14 handguns were recovered and turned over to ATF. The investigation continues.
