Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Leads to Marijuana Seizure

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Sunday, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office received information about two males in possession of marijuana. Investigators followed up on the information and were able to obtain the location of the subjects.
The subjects were located at a local motel at the 7100 block of Rosson Lane. Investigators made contact with the subjects, who were identified as Jose Angel Gomez, 30, and Luis Fernando Herrera, 22. During the investigation, one plastic bag containing marijuana was discovered inside one of the subject’s vehicle. Inside the motel room, investigators discovered two small bundles of marijuana wrapped in plastic.
The total weight of the marijuana was 4.6 pounds with an estimated street value of $1,400. Both subjects were charged with possession of marijuana and were remanded to the Webb County Jail with no bond.
