City to Increase COVID-19 Testing Capacity

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo Health Department will increase COVID-19 testing capacity in the Laredo community. In order to increase testing for the virus that causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at the community level, the health department will be setting up mobile COVID-19 testing sites, further providing accessible testing at parks and recreation centers in each council district beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
Testing will be offered from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at El Eden Park 4735 Loma Vista Dr, Laredo, Texas, 78046. All persons must register in advance by calling (956) 795-4932. The test takes less than 5 minutes and results will be available in 2-3 business days.
In the near future, an online registration tool will be up on the City of Laredo website for testing locations, requirements and online registration. The health department will announce future dates, places and times for testing in other council districts soon.
The health department reminds the public to continue with all prevention measures:
Practice social and physical distancing
Wear face coverings
Cover your cough or sneeze
Maintain distance
Practice enhanced hygiene (wash your hands before you leave home and when you return)
Practice sanitation at home and at work
If you are ill stay home and call your doctor
