(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD is proud to announce Los Obispos Middle School Principal Jessica Salazar, as a Semi-Finalist for 2020 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award. The H‑E‑B Excellence in Education Awards was created in 2002. It was designed to honor outstanding public school professionals and to thank them for their dedication and commitment. Through this program, H‑E‑B seeks to pay tribute to those educators who go the extra mile each and every day to serve their students and their communities and who inspire others to do the same.
More than 1,500 applications from educators all over Texas were submitted. Of those applications, 150 Teachers, 50 Principals, 20 districts, 16 early childhood providers and 14 school boards were selected as Semi-finalists and went on to compete in the Regional Judging process. The principals’ division is designed to recognize principals based on Leadership and Campus Culture, Instructional Leadership and Management, and Communication and Community Relations.
