(Laredo, Texas)-Webb County Judge signs order activating all county law enforcement agencies to assist with the City of Laredo Emergency Ordinance. Effective today, all county law enforcement will enforce all regulations implemented on March 19, 2020. Once the City of Laredo’s measures to protect public health were announced, Tijerina immediately reached out to the Laredo Police Department to offer the assistance of Webb County. “This is the time that we all need to unite to help maintain the health and safety of our community,” said Judge Tijerina.

Law enforcement agencies under Webb County jurisdiction include the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, Constables, County Attorney’s and District Attorneys. “I’m proud of all our law enforcement agencies for partnering with the City of Laredo during this crucial time,” noted Tijerina. “Our united front is key to containing the spread of COVID-19 in Laredo and throughout Webb County,” he added.

The District Attorney’s office is actively prosecuting price gouging. “The district attorney’s office is collaborating closely with all law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute price gouging and any other crimes occurring during this crisis,” said District Attorney Isidro Alaniz.

The County will continue to partner closely with the city to assist during this time.
