City, County Announce 2 New Positive COVID-19 Cases

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have announced the confirmation of two new COVID-19 cases in Laredo. Person 7 has traveled to an affected area and exhibited symptoms once they returned home but was not hospitalized and remains in quarantine. Person 8 has been confirmed positive by close contact and is also in recovery and in quarantine.
The City of Laredo Health Department is monitoring all potentially-exposed and confirmed persons. To date in Laredo, there have been 83 total persons tested, 29 of those tests have resulted negative and 8 have resulted positive. The City of Laredo Health Department also is receiving $406,000 in federal funding through the Texas Department of State Health Services for COVID-19 response.
In order to safeguard legally-protected information, the City of Laredo is not publically releasing personal or identifiable information regarding any cases as it relates to COVID-19 testing, results or monitoring.
