United Middle USTEM Students Present Foot Orthosis Projects

(Laredo, Texas)After three weeks of research, 6th grade students in United Middle School’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (USTEM) program, presented their foot orthosis designs to their parents and school administrators. The challenge was to create a foot orthosis for a child with cerebral palsy within specific parameters. Project Lead the Way, the program for which the students designed the orthosis, was organized and directed by United Middle School STEM teacher Cristina Mendoza.
