1st Place score – 137 Pts. “If I Ran the Circus” by 4th grade students

(Laredo, Texas)-The Muller elementary school Pumpkin Patch Contest gives students an opportunity to showcase their creativity by selecting a book and rendering characters using an assortment of pumpkins and recycled materials. Teachers and faculty assist students to develop the detailed set pieces.
This year’s entries were based on the works of Dr. Seuss, and were evaluated and scored by United ISD librarians, Curriculum & Instruction administrators, former educators and guest judges from our community.

3rd Place Score – 122 Pts. “Green Eggs and Ham” by 1st grade students

The contest is designed to encourage students to read, and is tied into the district’s accelerated reading program.
