(Laredo, Texas)-In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Kazen Elementary held their second annual Survivor Parade and Rally to celebrate the lives of four of their teachers who have overcome and survived the ailment. In the days leading up to the rally, parent volunteers decorated the survivors’ classroom doors and invited students, their families, and faculty/staff to bring photos of any loved ones have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Those images were posted on a designated Honor Wall, and will remain on display until the end of the month. Indoor and outdoor areas of the campus were accented by pink ribbons and balloons, and students participated in a festive parade led by two classic vehicles courtesy of Mr. Jose Gonzalez and his wife Mrs. Esther Gonzalez. All in all, it was a wonderful way for the Kazen Elementary family to unite and celebrate the lives of four very special teachers .
