UHS Chess Club Receives DRIVE 4 UR SCHOOL Fundraiser Check

(Laredo, Texas)-Recently, the United High School Chess Club participated in the DRIVE 4 UR SCHOOL fundraising program and earned $2,930.00 to use toward their program. Sames Ford is at the helm of the Ford fundraiser program in Laredo. The DRIVE 4 UR SCHOOL program raises funds for the campus or club by inviting people to test-drive their vehicles. For each vehicle that is test-driven, the program earns a $20 donation from their local Ford dealership. In addition, the dealership chooses a particular car model and an extra $10 can be earned by test-driving that featured model.
The UHS Chess Club was presented with a check for $2,930.00 at a ceremony in the Sames Ford showroom. Ms. Lucy Gutierrez, the Chess Club sponsor, stated, “We are very grateful to Sames Ford for allowing our students to participate in their fundraising program. The funds that we earned will help us tremendously on our road to the National Competition.” On behalf of United High School and United ISD, thank you, Sames Motor Company, for supporting and encouraging our students, year after year.
