Freedom Elementary Named SMART Technologies Exemplary Campus

(Laredo, Texas)- Freedom Elementary was recently recognized by SMART Technologies as a SMART Exemplary Campus.
SMART Technologies is honoring Freedom Elementary because they have demonstrated effective, innovative practices in the use of SMART hardware and software to enhance teaching and learning, and are open to sharing their practices with the wider education community, both locally and globally.
A ceremony was held in the Freedom Elementary Gymnasium to present the award to Mrs. Laura De Los Santos, principal of Freedom Elementary. The ceremony included a performance by the Raul Perales Middle School Mighty Oiler Band and a demonstration of how the campus integrates SMART Boards into their daily curriculum. Students and teachers later gave testimonials on how the technology has not only changed, but also enhanced both the instructional and educational experience.
United South High School’s Mariachi Imperial del Sur closed out the celebration with a stellar musical performance. Congratulations to Mrs. De Los Santos, her staff, and students for earning this prestigious title for their campus.
